The administration groups who have administrative permissions at different levels are described in the following list:
- Service pages users –this kind of user have an access to Service pages where the statistics, html code generators, gallery generators and general info on editions are situated.
- eDitionForce users
- eDition user – can only edit previously created editions by other higher ranked users
- eDition Admin – can create editions in previosly created projects
- Project Admin – can create and manage projects and editions whithin his administrative Group. More groups can be assigned to one Project admin.
Edition's hierarchy is structured as follows:
- Group – consists of projects. Groups are usually assigned to design teams and/or companies where they can create more Projects assigned to the certain titles or clients. Group's name doesn't appear anywhere else and could be provisional.
- Project – consists of editions. Projects are used for a sets of similiar editions (periodical titles, same kind, same series etc). Project name appears in the generic URL automatically generated from eDition system upon creation of edition (http://digital.edition-on.net/Project_name/desired_name_or_title.html) and for that reason it should be given some serious thaughts as it can't be changed anymore.
- Edition – the final product. Edition's name should also be a subject of deeper consideration in terms of apperance in the final URL and in terms of setting a future series of editions where needs of alphabetcally sorted titles will emerge especially when using some advanced automated eDition system features as Related items (Past issues) and Gallery of editions (Archive).
